Via dit bericht wil ik me graag voorstellen.
Ik ben Dirk van der Heijden, de leerplichtambtenaar die vanuit de gemeente is verbonden aan deze basisschool.
Wat houdt dat eigenlijk in, het beroep van leerplichtambtenaar?
In Nederland heb je het recht om te leren. Dat is heel mooi en belangrijk voor de toekomst van onze kinderen. Met een goede opleiding heb je immers meer kans op een goede start en positie in de maatschappij later. Omdat we dit recht voor onze kinderen willen beschermen, is er ook een leerplicht. Deze plicht wordt beschreven in de Leerplichtwet. Hierin zijn de regels voor verlof en verzuim van school ook vastgelegd. Deze regels zijn door de school met u gedeeld.
Het is mijn taak om vanuit de gemeente Eindhoven deze wet te handhaven. Ik kijk daarom, samen met de directeur/intern begeleider van de basisschool, mee naar de aan- en afwezigheid van de leerlingen, of het geoorloofd is, of niet.
Het is voor de structuur van de schooldag belangrijk dat kinderen ’s ochtends op tijd op school zijn. En dat kinderen zoveel mogelijk aanwezig zijn op school, om het leerproces niet te onderbreken. Schoolverzuim moet daarom altijd zo kort mogelijk duren en kan alleen worden geoorloofd als er heel belangrijke omstandigheden zijn.
De directeur van de basisschool is bevoegd om verlof te verlenen. Als het verlof meer dan 10 schooldagen betreft, komt de aanvraag bij mij terecht. Dan kijk ik vanuit de Leerplichtwet wat mogelijk is. Dit doe ik in overleg met de directeur.
Ik geef daarnaast advies. Als er sprake is van ongeoorloofd verzuim, of regelmatig te laat komen, kan het zijn dat ik gesprekken met ouders voer. Het liefst informatief en ondersteunend, maar het kan ook soms zijn dat het waarschuwend en handhavend moet zijn. Het is daarom belangrijk om op tijd aan de bel te trekken als er iets speelt rondom de aanwezigheid van uw kind op school, zodat er meegedacht kan worden. Dat kan bij de leerkracht, de ib-er, de directeur, of bij mij.

My name is Marijse van de Put and as of now, the new attendance officer who is connected to this primary school from the municipality of Eindhoven. What does that mean, the profession of compulsory education officer?
In the Netherlands you have the right to learn. That is very important for the future of our children. After all, with a good education you have a better chance of a good start and position in society in the future. Because we want to protect this right for our children, there is also an obligation. This is described in the Compulsory Education law. As well as the rules for leave and absence from school. These rules have already been shared with you by the school.
It is my job to enforce this law from the municipality of Eindhoven. I therefore look, together with the director of the primary school, at the presence and absence of the pupils, whether it is permissible or not.
It is important for the structure of the school day that children are at school on time in the morning. And that children are present as much as possible, so as not to interrupt the learning process.
Being absent from school, should always takes as less time as possible and can only be permitted if there are very important circumstances.
The principal of the primary school is authorized to grant leave. If the leave concerns more than 10 school days, the application will be sent to me. Then I look, in consultation with the school, at what is possible from the Compulsory Education Act.
I also give advice, if there is too much unauthorized absence from school, or being late in the morning, it may be that conversations are held by me with parents of the pupil. Preferably informative and supportive, but it can also be the case that it must be warning and enforcing. It is therefore important to inform school in time if something is going on around the presence of your child at school, so that they can think along. This can be done with the teacher, the director, the ib-er or with me.
